Artist Statement (Updated
1-25-08):
I will paint, draw, or write my art signature 5,000,000 times
on a variety of media. [Why?] To challenge myself. To make art.
Will I be able to complete it? Will it burn me out? Will it change
me? Will it change the way I do things? [And] To challenge (you)
the audience. How it will affect you? Will you love it? Will
you hate it? Will you participate?
What am I doing? This project is a visual and performance artwork.
I am signing my art signature over and over continuously for
as long as I can. I am mimicking the actions of a machine. Will
this make me a machine? Think of the things you do over and over.
Are you a machine too?
The plan is to do this work continuously for 8 hours a day; 5
days a week; 50 weeks a year; 10 to 20 years. The time it takes
to complete this artwork is dependent on audience participation.
More participation means I can work on this full time and finish
it faster. Less participation means I have to work on this part
time and finish it slower.

If you do not wish to purchase an artwork, you may
sponsor the making of one or more signatures for $1 each. Sponsored
signatures / artworks will be donated to art schools and other
non-profit organizations.
